love love LOVE this rustic weding — so chic and yet laid back

For the ceremony, Jacey was in love with the idea of creating an outdoor living room in the Smog Shoppe courtyard. We had a custom wall created to fit the space, covered it with burlap wall covering and hung reclaimed wood frames filled with beautiful prints as the backdrop. The wedding party sat in vintage lounge vignettes to add to the sense of home. Guests sat on benches with mismatched throw pillows while the aisle was lined with a collection of rugs. Down the aisle and at the altar were an abundance of classic pink garden blooms which made for a perfect juxtaposition in old time galvanized tubs. The ceremony included two very important guests, Grant and Jacey’s bulldogs, William and Polly. William wore a custom bow tie with the sweetest floral print that matched the groomsmen and Polly wore a floral collar. Next to the couple, these two stole the show.

Cocktail hour was filled with crystal chandeliers, eclectic lounge furniture from Found rentals, and delicious nibbles from Heirloom Catering. Guests were greeted with cocktails straight out of the Prohibition Era, which were beautifully presented with sweet vintage stirrers and custom cocktail napkins in a variety of patterns. Guests sat down for dinner at long feasting tables. Some were covered in burlap and others donned a simple sheer muslin. For the tablescape, we collected found objects and vessels such as vintage tea tins, sugar bowls and the like, which Holly Flora overflowed with the most gorgeous blooms in every shade of pink, sepia and creams. Table numbers were sewn by hand on mismatched fabrics and presented in embroidery rings. Chairs were an eclectic mix and each guest sat down to a collection of white china that felt as if it came straight out of Jacey’s grandparents house. Menus showcased more beautiful calligraphy and the same patterns from the invitation suite. For dinner, Heirloom cooked up a family style feast with a Southern Flair that included Chicken and Waffles and the most delicious short ribs ever. Wine was hand selected by the groom’s mother from the vineyard near her home in Santa Ynez. For the cake, Vanilla Bakeshop created a beautiful design with the sweetest sugar flowers and we topped with a playful cake topper which the bride has commissioned from an artist on Etsy. We displayed the cake on an antique checkerboard for an added moment of surprise. Jacey and Grant were such a blast to work with and we are already joking (aka dreaming) about what the vow renewal will look like.
